versatile base layer I have bought several tech top shirts because of their exceptional comfort and warmth. The only problem I have had is that they are just a bit short in length. I am 6' tall and 155 lbs. The medium fits perfectly except it could be an inch or two longer. March 11, 2013
Great, a little big at the wrists Like many have said, really quality product. My only minor gripe is that as a base layer it could be slimmer at the wrists. The thumb holes make this acceptable though. It feels true to size everywhere else. December 20, 2012
Great product Would recommend this to anyone. I like how it is a quarter zip, since I feel the other 260 weight base layer with the collar is too tight around my neck for comfort. Soft, warm, has thumb holes, doesn't stink after days of wearing it and has held up well after 200+ days of skiing. Fits snug, I use it as a base layer under my jacket. November 27, 2012
Trust me – you need this one One of my first Icebreaker pieces and I wouldn't put it off. Simple and highly functional cut, fits great thanks to raglan sleeves and feels wonderful as second layer. Could be a little longer, but still – this one is essential and I would recommend it to everyone. November 22, 2012
Great shirt I like the Tech Top shirt very much. It is of good quality, light and comfortable to wear on its own and in layering up. The large size fit is perfect for me and true to size. I travel a lot and I found the shirt not wrinkling much after sitting on a long plane ride. Too bad Altrec only offers one color at this time of my shopping because I would like to buy several shirts in different colors. I hope you will offer this shirt in more colors than the green. Makes You Look Forward To Cold Days... The Tech Top performs exceptionally well, insulating and transferring moisture when you are active or even when you're not. I've used it for jogging, hiking, kayaking, and even simply as a "sweater" to keep me warm around the house. In all cases, it has performed beautifully: resisting odor, insulating, and breathing well, to the point where it can be used several times over before needing a wash. The sizes as recommended have worked for me; it would be nicer if it was a couple of inches longer, but it's fine as is, I guess. As long as you follow the recommended care, this top will be in excellent shape for a long time to come. I'm getting more soon! June 25, 2012
This is the go-to base layer if you hunt After visiting numerous sites and reading reviews, I finally got the tech top with the 260 bottom. Used it as a base layer for archery hunting in 25-34 degree weather in the Pacific Northwest. It performed exemplary. It's soft on my skin and durable. March 15, 2012
Mmmmmmmmmm Used this for the first time the other week as a mid layer (over a Icebreaker short sleeve crew). Temperature was hovering just above freezing but I was perfectly warm with these and my waterproof. The Tech Top layers perfectly over the closer fitting crew but could be used as a base layer itself in colder conditions. The thumb loops keep the sleeve from riding up so they stay under your gloves (no cold wrists) and the high collar feels lovely and soft against the neck, as well as keeping it warm. I foresee this top being used a lot. Very glad I bought it. December 24, 2011
Icebreaker does it again....again I am actually an icebreaker addict. This garment does not disappoint. Icebreaker is not cheap but worth every penny. Moves well and feels very soft. A zipper guard would make the piece perfect. May 9, 2011
Local shops been boasting about Icebreaker I refused to pay the full retail. Took this to Breckenridge last week and loved it. Four days downhill skiing, got back to Tulsa and two days crosscountry skiing. Thats six days use withoout any odor. Very snug athletic fit kept me warm from 2 degrees on top of peak 8 through 32 degrees in afternoon. Wicked moisture away effectively as well. I will be purchasing some bottoms to complement my top. Nice soft wool on the skin that keeps you warm, can't go wrong. I wear mine almost exclusively as the sole layer under my ski jacket in temps between 15-40. Have also used it on mtb rides with another wool layer on top in temps between 35-50. I admit, I have become an ice breaker junkie, the quality and performance is worth every hard earned penny. A very nice base layer I've purchased quite a few Icebreaker base layers and they have all been great. I'm using this BodyFit260 Tech Top with the BodyFit260 Legging w/ Fly as my snow removal baselayer. I also use the same combination as a Snowboarding baselayer. The merino wool can't be beat for natural comfort and warmth. January 2, 2011
Icebreaker is top quality and every single product that I have bought has performed beyond expectations. Great base layer, great fit, wearable for several days before washing, really! December 30, 2010
Tech Body Fit with this top I bought this along with the 'Original Zip' so it gave me some comparative elements. This style as noted is more fitting to your body. Provides very good warmth for the lighter fabric. No itching and wicks very well. I will make good use of this and you will as well. November 3, 2010
Great Layer Works very well as a core body layer for skiing, would definitely suggest this product. February 16, 2010
High Quality Wool Baselayer This is an extremely well made, wool base layer for any cold weather need. The wool does not itch, breathes and wicks extremely well, and provides excellent warmth. The shirt is soft to the skin and can be worn all day without body odor. I perspire a ton and this shirt never had the foul odor of the synthetics. Interestingly, it can be worn on the coldest days and yet is breathable enough to function on its own as the temps rise. February 16, 2010
Excellent piece of running equipment! Great weight for thirty degree days in Austin. February 10, 2010
Merino wool is THE baselayer Not having purchased baselayers in quite a while I am shocked at how merino wool far surpasses any other base layer material out their. The shirt is soft, comfortable and insulates extremely well. All of this is done while keeping your skin dry with no lingering odor in the shirt. January 19, 2010
warm, fits well, comfortable expensive, but worth it. I'm going to order a second one to replace other wool base layers that don't work as well. January 9, 2010
Great everyday wear I bought a handful of these sweaters for my boyfriend. He swears by them - wears them every day of the week. Fall through Spring - they're great! They never smell, they're machine washable, and they hold up really well. Dress or casual wear - they look great with everything. I recommend buying them for all the men in your life - you won't regret it! January 2, 2010
fast service excellent quality December 28, 2009
Best overall Warm and wonderful. This is my new go to underwear for snowshoeing, skiing. December 25, 2009
Amazing undershirt The ice breaker shirt is the awesome! Well made, warm, and does not smell. Recently I discovered another use for this shirt. I wore it underneath my wetsuit while surfing in 48 degree water for 6 hours! It way extended my surf session, very warm but not to hot. And the best thing is that ever in seawater and sweat, when it dried it did not smell, amazing. October 11, 2009
Superb - but needs to be LONGER! Pros: Wonderful, soft, comfortable fabric and nice design. Noticeably warmer than equivalent artificial fibre underwear in cold, wet conditions. I have worn mine several days every week over the cold months (in Vancouver) for 3 years, until it's now a very nice rag, just barely usable. Cons: The wool develops holes and thin spots much faster than artificial fabrics, which can easily last 10 years or more. (All wools do this, not just merino, but know what you're in for. My main gripe is that New Zealand men must max out at about 5'-8'', because the tops are barely long enough when new, and by the time you wash them over 3 or 4 months they're easily 6" shorter than when new, even if they're only washed cold and line dried. I'd stretch them while they were hanging to dry, which helped at bit. ICEBREAKER DESPERATELY NEEDS TO MAKE TALL SIZES!!! Are you listening, Icebreaker? I'm see I'm not the only one who thinks so! August 27, 2012
If only I lived somewhere colder Then I could wear this more often. In North Texas, you just don't get that many cold days. But when we do, and for a while there we had a few, I wear this sucker a lot. Nice fit. Even long enough for my 6'5" self and my belly. I wear it as a base layer for bike rides. It works for short commutes (10 miles each way) because it insulates so well and for longer rides (60 miles +) because it transfers moisture so well. You don't get so much of that wet chill when you stop. June 21, 2012
Snug I had purchased this item a few months back to wear while running in the frigid cold. I would wear this top with a sleeveless 200g tank and would be surprisingly warm with temps down to 30 degrees. This top has shrunk a bit but not that much. When I had purchased this XL, I weighed 200lbs at 5'10" with a muscular upper body. In a matter of 3 4 months I'm down to 180lbs and it is still snug. I've taken it trail running and it has held up pretty well. My only suggestion would be to make it longer in the front. Although I am recently in shape, i feel like my waistline can be seen when moving around. May 20, 2012
Nice garment but two have shrunk I'm on my second one of these the first having been returned to the manufacturers by the shop I bought it from because it shrank in length by over two inches. It was replaced free of charge by another one which has also shrunk after two or three washes at 30 degrees centigrade. Is it possible to find such comfortable, nice fitting garments as these which do not shrink? May 4, 2012
Tech Top I am really impressed with warmth. I I wore it on trip snowshoeing in Northern MN and it worked great. It was 2 below zero in the morning so I got a good test and it wicked moisture away and kept me warm. I like the fit, but the only drawback is that it could have longer body. I tried a XL on and the body was the same length, but the rest of it was to big. I have got three different weights of these garments and will purchase more. December 30, 2010
Great Shirt This is a great shirt. It fits the body just as advertised. It is very warm and does not itch at all even though it is wool. My only complaint is that I am 6'3 and ordered an extra large, but it is a little short on me. Everything else is great. December 27, 2009
Warm, but wears out. I have owned three of these and my family all had them in the past. The product is great to wear. However, every one has developed holes in the same areas, sleeves and neck. The last one also suffered a non-functioning zipper after some time. We have purchased many more Icebreaker products and have been very happy with all functional factors, except their short wear life and the seeming lack of back-up by the company who have been contacted on this matter. Pity, otherwise such good products. January 12, 2012
