Really great for XC skiing! I often would get cold after a day of skiing and wearing this bra has just ended that issue! We just returned from a week of cross country skiing from inn to inn in Norway and I wore the Rush bra every day. It was comfortable in a high movement sport, kept me warm and I didn't have to wash it. What more can I say! I am a large busted woman and based on other reviews bought the XL which might be just a little large, but it is very comfortable. April 1, 2013
my favourite sports bra! The first time that I wore this bra, I knew I'd discovered something great. This is the best bra I've ever had for high intensity winter activities, since the wet wool doesn't freeze me when I stop moving, and it keeps me just warm enough while I am moving. It's winter here, so the best I can say for warm-weather situations is that I've used it for treadmill running and it works great. This bra has been just spectacular in these environments. Although I have a small chest (32A~), I'm really picky about what sports bras I'll run in, as I find that too many bras for smaller breasted women are too constricting around the chest, making it hard to breathe heavily. While "plastic" bras are stretchier, I find the wool is actually a better material for sports bras — there's just the right amount of support in the fabric. In short order, I bought a second of these and have been rotating them. I love how I only have to wash them once a week or so, or every three wearings or so — it's so much better for the environment to be skipping all that soap and water that I'd be using with the synthetics. No sports bra will please every lady, but for small chested women this could well be your new go-to. February 5, 2013
perhaps the best sports bra ever (for me) This is probably the best sports bra I've ever had. I do a lot of winter sports, and I get really cold afterwards when I'm wearing damp clothes. The first Rush bra, I didn't have super high expectations, thinking it would be, if nothing else, decent for winter cycling and x-c skiing (i.e., cold & low impact). Well, it's excellent for those purposes. It further impressed me when I went for a run on the indoor track and I neither overheated nor had any bounce issues. Certainly, no sports bra will be perfect for every lady. I'm pretty slight and have a small chest (maybe 34A?). I took a small and it's ideal. For those with more support requirements, I can see how this may not work out as well. But for me, it's awesome. Bought my second on sale & I'm very happy. January 5, 2013
Surpassed my expectations This bra is perfect--all natural where it matters, and very comfortable. Just the right amount of support--no major mashing, yet keeps the girls where they belong. I usually wear a medium, but in this bra the large is perfect. I hope Icebreaker starts making a lighter color/neutral color in addition to the black and blue. I can't wait to get another. Please don't stop making this bra! August 27, 2012
great all-season wool running bra This is a wool running bra that is terrific for year-round use. Comfortable - non-itchy and non-chafing, supportive, and great temperature regulation. The wool breathes well, wicks moisture away from the body, and is not too hot for summertime use while also keeping me from becoming cold after sweating - also, never smelly or clammy like synthetic fabrics can be. Construction is excellent quality. Only the chest band is a little snug and requires effort and care when putting on or taking off. August 14, 2012
Mt. Cook NZ I love this bra? Never in my life did I think I would purchase, non-the-less wear a wool bra. It is my favorite sports bra. July 13, 2012
Great bra, a little tight around chest I really like the construction of this bra. It is super comfortable on and supportive, but the chest band is not stretchy enough which makes it hard to get on. I can hear some of the threads break when I put it on sometimes, but once it is on it fits perfect and is very comfortable. I am a solid medium with all other brands. May 1, 2012
Icebreaker Rush Bra I'm 5'2" 110, 32D. I usually buy XS Icebreaker tops but after reading all the reviews went with the S and it fits perfectly. I use this for running & the support is great. March 3, 2012
Fab sports bra I love merino wool products, and this is the first wool bra I've tried. The middleweight fabric is great for a sports bra--no show through and lots of support. I usually wear a small in sports bras (5'3", 125 pounds with ample shoulders, 34C, and a narrow waist), but I ordered the medium and it's perfect. The shoulders are cut out nicely so there's no chafing. The band underneath is firm, but keeps the bra in place comfortably. I didn't have any problems getting into/out of this bra, unlike other reviewers. I've been wearing this bra for all sorts of mountain and road biking, and just in general too. I will be ordering another one. My only minor issue was all the big labels sewn inside (they picked), but I just carefully removed all remnants of them. November 6, 2011
impeccable Icebreaker quality - only a fit issue I'm a small in all the Icebreaker t-shorts and long-sleeve shirts so i bought the bra in S as well. The quality of the bra is great - awesome stitching - but i was squished - so this had to go back. Medium works much better - I'm a 32C in regular bra. Hope this helps whoever is trying to figure out sizes. August 26, 2011
Good serviceable bra Love to run in wool, all year round. Great in cool weather, wore it today in 75 degree weather: nice. Snug getting on, snug getting off. Recommend this for a smaller frame. I am 5'4", 120 lbs., and had trouble with it. Very good looking, fit to be worn by itself. Looking forward to having it for a long time. Excited to have it. Love the black. July 28, 2011
Finished with cold dripping down my chest! The worst part of winter sports is the rivulet of cold water running down your chest. Finally, with this wool bra, there is a cure! Other reviewers have said this bra runs small, for which I am very grateful at 5 feet, 32b. The XS fits me perfectly. The only issue is getting it over my head; it would be great if there was a little clip or fastener on the side so that it could go on easily and then be done up. Once it's on, the fit is just right. Just putting it on makes me want to go running in the rain! Thanks, Icebreaker. May 21, 2013
Good Support But Runs Small This bra provides good support but it is definitely for cooler weather as the fabric is quite thick. Also, it runs really small. I usually wear either a small or extra-small Icebreaker, depending on how fitted I want the item. I originally ordered this in xs since I thought that would give me better support, but I could not even get it over my head. I exchanged it for a small, which is still tough to get on but fits well. Fits very small I have yet to test it but it fits very small. I normally wear an XS in the icebreaker line and the S was still too tight for comfort around the band. Reordered a M and although other reviewers say it was then a little too large, it fit me perfectly. The construction and fabric is similar to the other icebreaker clothing quality so I'm looking forward to a non sticking bra! July 31, 2011
Part of the workout is getting into it As a previous reviewer pointed out, this bra has an odd fit. I wear a 34B and find the band on the small is a bit tight, but it gives good support for running. It can be hard to get in and out of, but is worth the effort. I was concerned that it would chafe because the armholes seem to be cut for a narrower chest, but after a 4-mile race in 80+ temps, I can say that chafing is not a problem. No itch, no stink, dries quickly, and quickly wicks moisture to the outside so it can evaporate. Machine washes in cold water without shrinkage (I don't put it in the dryer). I'm happy with it and will order another. July 18, 2011
Wanted to love it I like the cut of this top. The armholes aren't too tight, the neckline is not too low or too high. The fabric is typical Icebreaker perfection. But the elastic band was too loose to keep the bra in place. I purchased a medium because I don't like to be squashed, but this top rode up if I shrugged my shoulders. It might work great for someone with a bigger ribcage than mine. March 12, 2011
Good quality/ odd fit Icebreaker has become one of my favorites so I thought I would try this bra. The merino fabric is great - breathable and does not smell. Unfortunately, the sizing seems off. For 34b, the medium was too loose to provide support but the small seems too tight. It is hard to get over the shoulders. Once on, the performance is good. June 13, 2011
Not stretchy enough I was excited about the prospect of an Icebreaker sports bra, and I'm hoping one day they'll make one that fits, but this one just isn't stretchy enough. It wants to sit higher than the straps will allow. If the straps were just a bit more forgiving, the bra would form better to the body. I find Icebreaker's women's line to be designed for tiny women -- maybe that's the problem. In any case, I'm looking forward to improvements in this bra, as I'm sick of getting sweaty in cotton!
