sub-zero running I needed socks for running in winter conditions. The hike+ are already very warm even when not on a run. After an hour of medium exhaustive running they are fairly wet on your ankles but still sufficiently warm. You may want a thinner variant if you sweat stronger, though. December 16, 2012
Winter hates these Best socks ever for winter. Yes, they are warm, durable and don't stink. The asymmetrical design also makes the fit better and cushion on strategic places makes these incredibly durable and comfortable at the same time. Great for cold weather or longer hiking in boots. Wearing M size on EUR 42 and feeling good. December 6, 2012
Merino socks I love merino because it is warm, breathable, and doesn't smell. These socks keep your feet warm and well cushioned and hold up over time. Icebreaker makes high quality products, these socks are no exception. March 1, 2012
Best Socks Icebreaker socks are simply the best socks I have owned. Most comfortable, long lasting, warm and odor free. These socks are my favorite for hiking as well as everyday wear. I also have several pairs for skiing and they are great too!! December 19, 2011
Fantastic Socks! This is my second pair of the hike mid crew socks, finally having worn a hole in the original pair after 4 years of steady use. Icebreaker makes the best wool products around. These socks are comfortable, durable, keep their shape, and have just enough padding without being obtrusively bulky. In general, Icebreaker socks are the best socks you can get. November 4, 2011
I bought these socks for a trip to the Boundary Waters. They are extremely warm and comfortable. I found that I could wear them all day and night and they wouldn't even start to stink. I found that I now wear them for everyday socks because I enjoy them so much. April 7, 2011
Icebreaker Rules Well...I must say that I'm a fan of Icebreaker products. I own multiple tops and bottom layers but this is my first pair of socks. They are impeccably made and fit the foot very snugly. No need to repeatedly smooth the sock down on your foot before putting your boots on. They have a great feeling of quality to them. This particular sock is a mid weight. It is nicely padded in all of the right places and gives the impression that it would stand up under a really long hike..I've only gotten in 5 miles max so far and they stood up beautifully. I know there are a lot of makers of wool products out there...In my opinion, Icebreaker is delivering the best quality merino wool products of anyone. January 4, 2011
Great for Cool Weather I haven't used these socks for hiking; Instead I use them fort all-around use during the cold winter months where I live. They keep my feet warm whether shoveling snow in tennis shoes (sometimes I'm too lazy to put on boots) or sitting at a desk in a cool warehouse where I work. I'm impressed with how they're holding-up and have no reason to expect they won't provide a long use-life. It's also worth noting that they're itch-free and the size medium fits perfectly on my men's size 9.5 foot. December 19, 2010
Good temperature regulation These are the best socks I have worn for temperature regulation. My feet are never too cold or too hot. October 14, 2010
Great Socks! I am a sock person, and I must say these socks are on top of my list. I had a pair of icebreaker socks before and they were great and these socks are just as equally great. They are very comfortable, warm, and my feet are able to breath well. I am not sure how long they will last but the older pair I had are still around so hopefully these will last just as long. Cannot say enough how great these socks are! September 30, 2010
Best sock for warmth and moisture removal I never thought I would spend this much for socks, but once I tried a pair for hiking I fell in love with them. December 31, 2009
Comfortable and Warm I purchased these socks for a recent trip to the Grand Tetons. The socks did their job absorbing water and providing warmth. Unfortunately, if you don't use a water-proof boot or shoe like I shouldn't have done. Then these socks won't do their job. Otherwise they are a great sock for long hikes or even better for day or short-range hikes. May 20, 2011
Best Merino Wool Socks I have few pairs of IB socks and all of them are comfortable and durable. I have tried other brands of merino wool products and IB seems to be the best in overall quality. I didn't give it 5 stars because sometimes I feel it's not as breathable as it should be especially when hiking or walking for hours during summer time. However, I usually wash them at night and it will be dry in the morning, so it's very convenient. It's a bit more expensive than other brands, but it's worth of the money you pay for. March 29, 2011
nice socks bought these for my son for christmas; he immediately fell in love with them and wants me to order him another pair; a little worried about long term durability - socks seem to be "fuzzing" up a bit, but that may just be a characteristic of wool socks in general December 26, 2010
Tough socks I have been wearing these socks for about 3 months now and they have been great. I have used them on a few long treks and they are very comfortable and with enough padding. My feet tend to eat socks for dinner around the big toe but so far no holes and my feet are still hungry. November 24, 2010
