A Classic
I've had two of these now. They've lasted several years under heavy use. Made from the best material available by a company that knows how to use it, they've kept me warm and comfortable - with no itching. It works as an excellent layering component or with just a base layer underneath. (My preference is to wear a base layer, but this is not a necessity.)
I use it for trekking in the Rockies and around Lake Superior and for everyday use - even for casual occasions. Its design is stylish yet clean.
There is no guessing about whether or not the 260 long sleeve is suitable for your use. No matter the purpose, it will serve you well. If you aren't subjecting it to severe treatment like I do, it will last forever. (Perhaps avoid wearing it next to a 70lb backpack. There might be some minor pilling. After all, it is wool.)
Icebreaker's excellent customer service and complete on-line selection has lead me to now make all my purchases from their web site rather than going to a retail outlet.

Warm and Comfortable
This 260 layer provides a comfortable, warm top that I wear mostly on its own. The fit is great, as it is somewhat relaxed and not skin-tight. With the shirt's odor resistance, I can wear it several times before it needs a wash. It also breathes great and has held up well over time and through multiple wears so far. Since it is comfy and insulates well, not only do I wear this one outdoors some, but I wear it mostly casually during the day and around town, which certainly makes it a versatile merino piece. Once the cold weather comes around, this shirt is always a go-to for me!

Hip and comfortable
I wear this as a stand alone layer. It looks great and fits the body nicely but not at all too tightly. I have the gray and black and love it. As one of my faves, this shirt lives in high rotation.

Warm as toast!
I have owned this top for 3 years and combined with the 260 leggings they are the only products that keep me warm on cold days/nights at work. They look as good as new, take a lot of abuse and don't need to be washed as much as man made materials-basically they are the best thermals I own.
I would recommend them to anyone who is outside in cold weather when your activity level is low but need to retain body heat.

Ridiculously Good
This is my favorite long-sleeve for cool to cold temperatures because it works as a base layer, it's a fantastic mid-layer, but it's also a great-looking shirt. I frequently wear the LS Crew in casual social settings, which makes it extremely versatile. Adding in all the advantages of merino and it's a no-brainer. I own a number of these and keep coming back for more.

Comfortable, durable, warm
I prefer the quarter zip 260 weight baselayer most of the time and use this as my backup since I feel it is too tight around my neck.
Soft, warm, doesn't stink after days of wearing it and has held up well after 200+ days of skiing. if you like having a non-zip neck this is perfect.
Fits snug, I use it as a base layer under my jacket.
